The underlying philosophy at TED-Ed is the belief that ideas have the ability to shape attitudes and lives across the entire world. Through educational videos, seminars, conferences, and curriculums, TED-Ed provides a platform for people of all ages to learn more about something… nearly anything, in fact.
Over the years we’ve created several videos for the organization, including a series of biological videos called “Getting Under Our Skin” that highlight the functions of our internal organs, as well as videos about the dangers of added sugar and a meditation on whether mathematics was invented or discovered!
Through the various projects, we collaborate closely with educators and writers (including luminaries like Dr. Robert Lustig) to determine the best way to tell the story. Once we get to the production phase we use different styles of illustrations—from clean and simple, to fun and cartoony, to custom illustrations mashed with public domain art—to create vivid, memorable, informative videos.
These short videos engage a variety of audiences and can tell a story or relay an educational message across multiple mediums, channels, formats, and devices.
In fact, our TED-Ed videos now have nearly 5.5 million views on YouTube.
