Who doesn’t love cool socks?
OK, the bigwigs at Tremendousness asked me to avoid dumb puns in this holiday blog post about the socks we had made, so I need to get off on the right foot.
Ug, I walked right into that one.
I’m afraid I can’t do it… I’ve got cold feet.
I’m hosed.
No! I can do this—I need to be stocking up on courage.
Now I’m flip-flopping.
Put yourself in my shoes, would ya?
OK, it’s time to talk the talk, walk the walk, and sock the sock. No, that doesn’t make sense.
Yes, I’m just trying to pad the word count.
“Put a sock in it!”, you say?
I am defeated.
I can’t toe the line.
Still, we hope 2020 knocks your socks off—so we got you an extra pair.
They’re quite jaunty and we think you’ll get a kick out of them.
Nailed it!
Welp, I’m getting the boot now.
Alright, let’s try this again…
You know that warm, cozy feeling you get when a project turns out just as great as you’d hoped, or even better? We do. Our 2019 was full of them and we’re looking forward to more in 2020.
Actually, that warm, cozy feeling is much more likely to happen when wearing warm, cozy, “crazy” socks1.
Seriously. It’s been scientifically proven2 by Harvard researchers that people who wear fun socks3 are more brilliant, creative, and successful—or at least they appear that way to others.
That’s why we decided to make cool socks our gift to clients and friends of the agency this year—even though they’re already some of the most brilliant, creative, and successful people we know.
One set features a bunch of visual clichés—lightbulbs, handshakes, puzzle pieces. Another is just a cool Argyle pattern, but wildly colorful. The third is done up Louis V style. Here’s one of the thank you’s we got:
“I came to work today with thoroughly unglamorous socks on and was feeling a little un-festive for today’s impending holiday party, when with perfect timing a gift appeared on my desk and now all that foot-gloom is gone! Many thanks! And I hope to work with you again soon. Everyone I’ve shown our video to loves it.”
Now, we know that not everyone is “into” funky socks… but everyone could be. So expand your horizons in 2020 and get a little crazy—even if it’s just your socks.
Your cheerfulness and creativity may just expand as well—and that would be quite a “feat” thanks to a simple pair of socks!
