On their own, these are interesting and important stats. But Adobe wanted a new and engaging way to support press initiatives and social outreach around the topic.
We worked with them to come up with three short stories—very short, at 15 seconds each—that we call Infobits. These are perfect for sharing quick facts and ideas on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
Adobe’s desire for a simple illustration style led us to think of 8-bit video games and the final animations play on the game idea. We built a little world around each factoid, integrating “bloopy” sound effects with pixel-based motion, and provided static images of the mini-infographics as well.
